Texas Governor Rick Perry visits New Community Clinic building on its First Anniversary
Gov. Rick Perry visited Ibn Sina Community Medical center on March 27,
2008. to mark the first anniversary celebration of its new clinic
at Wilcrest in Houston. The event was attended by several elected
officials, community leaders and supporters of the Foundation.

New Community Medical Center
The new building for the foundation's community medical center located at Wilcrest was inaugurated on March 29, 2007 by Houston city mayor Hon. Bill White. Several key elected officials and representatives were present on the occasion. [Pictures]. The Foundation received generous grants from the city of Houston, local donor foundations and from several philanthropists for the construction of a state-of-the-art medical center in South west Houston.
Healthy Kids ... Better Future - Parnership with Texas Dept. of State Health Services:
The
Ibn Sina Foundation in collaboration with Texas Department of
State Health Services is now providing a Healthy Kids Program
for low income population. Children belonging to underserved,
uninsured and indigent population are expected to benefit from

Montessori Project
Poverty
is associated with inadequate childcare and under resourced schools.
In the US 2,019 babies are born into poverty everyday. In the
US one of every five children is poor during the first 3 years
of their life - the age, which according to recent research,
when most of the brain development occurs. Impoverished children
often suffer from an "achievement gap" . These challenges require
prevention via early intervention. Ibn Sina Foundation's Montessori
project is a step in that direction. More »

Apart
from regular primary and preventive care, the Wicrest Clinic
provides additional services like Digital Xrays,Echocardiograms,Stress
Tests,Ultrasounds & Speciality
clinics. Cardiologists are scheduled every first & second Saturday
of the month; Opthamologist every second Thursday & third Wednesday.
All speciality clinics are priced @35.00; Dermatology consultation
is priced @ $40.00 per visit. Podiatrist is scheduled for fourth
Tuesday of the month.
Other services available at the Clinic are: Weight Loss Management, Birth Control, Complete Lab Services, Mammograms, Eye exams, Sports Physicals ,Drug Test & EMG.
Appreciation Reception
The Ibn Sina Foundation held its second Annual Appreciation Reception on March 31, 2005. This annual event is conducted to appreciate and honor the Donors, Volunteer, Doctors and Patrons of the Foundation.The guest of honor was US Senator John Cornyn, and Congressman Tom DeLay was the special guest. It was attended among others, by several elected government functionaries, prominent community leaders and businessmen. Pictures>>
